An Iftar Mahfil was held today, March 12 (Wednesday), by the Naya Paltan City Heart branch. The event was chaired by the President of City Heart Branch, Kassem Sardar, and conducted by Branch Secretary Mohammad Monir Hossain. The chief guest of the event was the Assistant Secretary of Dhaka South City, Mostafiz Shaheen.
In his speech, the chief guest recalled the martyrs of 24 and mentioned how, in the past, fascist governments even prevented the organization of Iftar Mahfils. He also highlighted that in order to eliminate corruption, interest, and rape from society, establishing an Islamic rule is essential. He further stated that if a few rapists were punished according to Sharia law, the country would be rid of this heinous crime forever. He called on every member of City Heart to promote the noble ideals of Islam.
The Iftar Mahfil also included a prayer and discussion led by Shaikh Saiful Islam, the head of the Ulema Division of Keraniganj Thana.
Special guests present included Paltan North Ward President Mohammad Nurul Amin, Ward Vice President Solaiman Faruk, Ward Secretary Abu Saeed, and the President of the Shatabdi Tower branch, Saiful Islam, along with other leaders.
The overall management of the Iftar Mahfil was handled by City Heart Branch's Baitul Mal Secretary, Akhtar Hossain, and Al Amin. Over 150 leaders and activists participated in the Iftar gathering.
